Just had a great weekend.
3 mates from Townsville came down on Saturday, few beers around the barbie catching up on the last 20 to 30 years on Saturday evening.
Sunday - out to the Winter Nationals at Willowbank, 15 minutes down the road. Plenty of cars, bikes and so on but (and it is a big but) the first time I had ever seen, heard, felt, top fuel rails fire up and run
OMG, cannot say to much apart from the huge shit eating grin on my dial as I was scooping my guts up off the floor. These things are just insane, one run saw the second fastest (in the world) top speed at the end on the quarter mile....and second by only 3 tenths of 1 mph - 336mph (540kmh) with a time of 4.5 seconds for the quarter mile.
Just waved them off with a plan to make it a yearly or 2 yearly thing, good friends, great venue and plenty of stories to tell.....bit like this forum
