Tyre choice

I am after anyone's feedback on tyres for my pop up. I currently have the Bridgestone bt45s' on f and r. 120/80/16 and 130/80/18. I don't ride my bike very much and apart from the front wearing, the back is splitting on the sidewall and middle due to me being slack and it sitting in the shed. I spoke to Glen about the Pirelli sport demon, which he highly recommends. John(darkside) runs the contis' on his pop up I think and likes them . Dave 750se has just got continental on the front and likes the feel of that. Just not sure which way to go or stick with the bt45s'. Any views welcomed and would be good to hear from pop up owners as well.
Thanks

I have BT45's on my pop-up and have no problem with grip wet or dry, got 12000 out of the back and went through 2 fronts in that time (16" front wheels are known for poor tyre wear). I have SD's on the 1100 and same deal with grip no worries but haven't done enough miles on a new set to give milage details yet'

Cheers

Had a couple of BT45's on the back, they are okay just dont like the feel they give when they get near the wear bars, went to try a Metzler but it developed a vibration so they changed it to a BT 45. On the front have had a couple of BT 45's, again feel strange when getting low on tread and wear real quick. Currently have a AVON Road rider, but beware these are larger then the others and has warn though the bottom edge of the guard before I noticed. Have packed the guard up with some washes to have just enough clearance now, tyre feels better than the BT 45's.

the "continental contigo" to give then their full name

- unquestionable grip wet or dry
- got 10997k from the rear
- front out lasted the rear by about a 1/4 13725k
- front only available in 120/80 16 you will need a spacer under the guard but speedo is about right. (same dia but fatter)

couple of cavets, your mileage may vary.
- I wear my tyres till the layer under the tread starts to show, or I get scared in the wet.
- Unlike Max I am no cornering hero, I dont push that hard though them, thus front lasted longer.

Cheers John
