Thinking of joining the club, body interchange question.

I Sean, anything is possible.
Once saw a fibreglass Laborgina body on a VW Beatle pan!

I think you would need to do a lot of mods and brackets. Are you looking to make a 250 pop-up?

Unless you are installing all of the model gear ( tank, upper fairing, seat & tail ) I don't think the lines would look too good, and if are that's going to be a challenge.

When you do make the full step and join, be sure to post on the Introductions ( it's just above a little ;)

Go home Tomcat. You're drunk.
This is the intro thread and I think he's talking about turning a popup into a non popup Kat.
Welcome aboard mate. If it hasn't yet been done, be the first. Or just buy a 750 non pop Up??

Well is my face RED! Sorry Sean, did not have specs on, still coming to terms with having to use them just 4 weeks in.
But in my defence, your title threw me.

And yes, Ben is correct. Unless Sean is looking to make some mutant SZ it's an eyelid on the H4 up front :D

Haven't had a drop since yesterday Lunchtime, maybe that's the issue?

G'day Sean,

I reckon it would take a huge amount of work, not to mention $$$$$$. If your after a 750 that looks like (similar - the pis is of a 250cc 'baby' katana) the second pic you attached it would be cheaper to buy the 82/83 model. They came with 750/1000/1100 cc engines. Ive got a 750cc version. They look like this:

Cheers and good luck hunting for a Katana mate!!

Thanks for all the input guys. Haven't been able to find a older one yet. I have an offer for a popup one for a few grand. Would like to stay around that price range for a 750.... but I'm new to this. I've only been able to see 1000cc+ ones and those are well out of my budget.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to paste a baby katana. Unless there's a difference in size, I just meant to see the pieces from another 750cc+

If you check through the "Listed Elsewhere" & " Selling" sections you'll see recently found ones on ebay / bike sales / gumtree. Might give you idea of what the market is ranging and you never know, maybe a lead to someone that has not sold and is now motivated.

Gidday Sean and welcome to the Katana Owners Group as we are not a registered club. Also as Tomcat said look on ebay etc and lodge details of what you have find and the good people on this Forum will have a look and let you know as many kats appear several times with prices that vary each time.

+1 to Nick and Tomcat - Keep your eyes out on the for sale section here, and if you do find something your interested in post up the link, ask any questions you want - you will be very suprosed how helpful, and not to mention knowledgable the crew here are - Good luck and a little patience will find you a beauty. The 750 82/83 models are cheaper than the 1100's, but they are not as common. That said they certainly come up from time to time.

Cheers
Rusty

Agree with others changing the panels would be a lot of work. but yours to do it if you want.

But what I want to know is why would you want to mess with perfection?
popup is much better looking, than the heavy old model in the first place.!!

*sigh* just because I'm old and have to be forgiven doesn't mean that I have to have a darkside.....

Don't hack a perfectly good kat, it might be a darkside but they are still good, nothing wrong with the first models though and it is my preference.

I have a spare Bahco hacksaw, new blades and the 18 V 125mm cut-off machine has a fully charged battery. Let the good times roll, ya can never cut up too many Darksides.
