Hi guys,
Hope everyone is well.

I have not been on the forums for ages.
I guess that's because I haven't been working on the old 750 which
usually means annoying you guys for your technical expertise.
Don't worry it will happen shortly.

There is also another reason.

You guys have the first of Suzuki's absolute game changer superbikes.

I had to settle for the second.

A 2019 Gen 2 Busa in glorious black.
(I have tried to put up a photo but failed)

I might even be able to just keep up with you blokes.

Maybe? Hmmm maybe not.

Cheers,

Shane

I think most of us here love being peppered with technical questions, I know I do.

I think you'll find the 'busa will struggle against a well sorted kat like mine or Drillit's up to around 160kph when the 'busa's better top end comes into its own, might change when I get the Torquemaster 5000 motor done.

Here's a poor quality video of my kat up against a 'busa in qualifying at Willowbank, not much in it and head is stock except for cams.

Hi Scrapes.
Cheers for reply.

Wow,well she sure does go!!

As we know the 1100's are legends
In their own right.

Not much could touch them then and
Not much can touch them now.

I have an 1100 motor I am selling but hmmm.
Maybe I should put it in my 750 frame and leave on 750 badges.

Poor guy on his R1 would get a hell of a shock.lol.

Cheers.

hahaha... That 7/11 would fit in really, really well up here, just ask Drillit about his track days on his "750", paging Drillit....

Put the 1100 motor in, you will not regret it, just need a couple of brackets and you're good to go.

Lol.drillit.
Actually I have heard you can do it but it is really that "easy"?
The 750 will be just a fun run around.
No serious horses needed.
The 1100 can go to someone who really needs it.
Hopefully someone here.
What happened a few years ago is I found the 1982 GSX 750 which was pretty together and it came with what was left of a 1980 GSX 1100.
The 750 was always going to be a cafe racer.
I thought of bringing the 1100 back to an original but all too hard.
I toyed with the idea of a bobber as well.
Now having the Busa I will just finish the 750 and sell the 1100 bits.
Time is a factor as we all know with building bikes.
Cheers.

Is the motor really 93kg's?
What have you shaved off yours?

Hi Nige, the scales say 93.00 kg for a stock SZ 1100 engine. Shaved 3.8 kg off the engine so far. The Kat diet has produced the big weight reduction in places like wheels, lithium battery, titanium bolts, titanium exhaust, aluminium parts, hollow axles, solo seat, radial tyres and carbon parts. You'll see it at this years SOO. Total weight reduction has been pretty good however, could take more weight off in places like indicators and clocks however, Kat clocks and those big chunky indicators are major parts that make a Kat a Kat, so they have to stay. An other place that could be modded to drop a few kg is removing the rear peg mounts but I can not do that to a Kat frame. Cutting up a frame is a bridge too far for me so the rear mounts will stay.

Cheers.
