Last KatStory.JPGLast Kat Ever.JPG

I was lucky enough to be in Hamamatsu last year and of course I have to visit our Katanas Birth Place. Suzuki would not let me into the factory but allowed me to spend some quite time with the last Kat. I was able to touch it and yes it is frame number 1100. I would have to say it was a spiritual and definitely surreal experience. They have all the tooling and could go again but the wording in the story suggests our bike will only get harder to find.

Thanks for the story and photos Ray, that would've been a sight to see alright!

Thanks the baby Jesus they harkened back to the original colour scheme with the final model and didn't decide to go out with the eye-wateringly bad red-frame scheme of the SBE...

What are the thoughts on the coffee coloured straight vinyl seat. I thought they may have gone the original grey and blue shark skin (suede).

Ray

Just had another look at the seat I suppose its more dark gray at the back than coffee colored.

Its a great museum hey Ray.
Heaps of stuff to look at. I like it when you walk in and there is just the reception desk and a lone Kat to great you.

Sounds just like going to work cheers murf O except they have given me a loverly sexatary to keep me in umm line

Hi Ray, thanks for the info on "The Last Katana", real one that is. Not those teapots from the F series. The Katana plaque should read Jan Fellstrom designed the ED2 and the production SZ 1100 Kat in partnership with Suzuki to ensure manufacturing processes and ED2 design were able to marry as successfully as possible resulting in the production version of the SZ.

Cheers.
