Thanks for allowing me to join...

Hello there,
I have been racing Suzuki`s in historic`s for many years a GSX1100 and a XR69 both#23.I recently picked up a Katana of a good friend who has had some serious medical issues I would like clean it up get it going and give it back to him. I`m hoping this will cheer him up and put a smile on his dial.
He has owned the bike since 1987 he purchased it from Steve Trinder in Lavington NSW. It maybe an ex racebike GS110X526723. I had it repainted back to original silver and replaced a lot of the parts that were missing, mainly from old racebike spares and a few donations from guys I race with.
However I`m still short of a couple things that someone on the site may have, looking for the striker for the seat and the clamp that attaches the left hand switch block to the handlebar. I understand I can still buy the whole switch block new but trying to keep the costs down.
Just thought I would ask on here first..
Cheers Laurie Fyffe..

Hey Laurie, welcome along! I know your name possibly from back when I did a bit of flag marshalling in 99/2000 with the Qld Flag Marshall League (don't worry you won't know me). Pretty sure you were in naked bikes or something back then? Can't recall now.

Anyway, good job looking after a mate and I hope it does give him a big smile!

When you say striker for the seat, are you talking about the bit on the left or right in this photo? If it's the bit on the right I may have a (slightly bent but useable) spare I can send down:

G`Day Pete,
I don`t think that was me back that far. I did do the Aussie titles in Queensland though at Warwick. Mate the one on right looks like it could fit I shall check it against one on friends bike here in town and let you know. Thanks so much for getting back to me..

That's cool, my memory's somewhat faulty these days :D

No probs on the seat bit, let me know, pretty sure I even know where it is!

Hi Laurie
I’m on the northern beaches and have done a resto on a 750, and just committed to a basket case 1100.
I may be able to help out with some parts I have and about to aquire.
When you say “clamp on left hand switch block” are you referring to the outer plastic cover?

G`Day Tomcat,
Thanks for your reply. I have the switch block side that contains the buttons and switches however the clamp and plastic cover over the clamp is missing. It`s the piece the two screws go though to attach it to the handlebar,
Regards Laurie

Hi Laurie
Ok, I’ll let you know if I can help with that once I pick the bike/parts up in a couple weeks.
Cheers
Stuart
