So, what's she worth?

So... an opportunity has presented itself, and selling my Kat may be the logical way for me to move on this...
So what's she worth?

Started life as an 82 750, have done the following:
Recently rebuilt GSX1100 motor - 1170, ported head, big valves, big cams, Mikuni RS36 flatslides with mikuni bellmouths and ramair filters, Yoshimura carbon carb heatshield, oil cooler, modified cases to improve breathing, modified oil pickup, welded 2nd gear, modified Megacycle 4 into 1 with a 80's Yoshimura can - will install GSXR alternator and starter clutch conversion before it goes.
18" Wire wheels front and rear, Continental Road Attack 2 CR classic race compound tyres, tubeless conversion.
Front end - 0.95 springs, cartridge emulators, fork brace, Unicorn Japan 18" front guard, anti-dives bypassed, stock discs and calipers, GSXR radial master, Pazzo adjustable levers, Slabby GSXR1100 Gauges, billet aluminium Rizoma mirrors (these were something like $600 a pair when I first built the bike).
Back end - Fully Adjustable Ohlins, narrowed TL1000R swingarm, carbon chain guard.
Braced frame, custom billet rearsets with brembo master, custom electrics tray and battery tray, custom paint...
She weighs somewhere about 205kg with a half tank.
It will hurt to see it go.

holy shit Batman where's Robin

hard to price something like that, Its really going to come down to what someone is willing to pay. looks like he has done a great job

Very nice bike, to anyone on here priceless. But like anything that is for sale, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

But interested to hear what the mob reckon ;)

Cheers

Paul

Ben, Your the only one who can answer that one.....a new rebuild....a very emotional decision...a very well built sensibly modified Katana....a 7/11....unfortunately restored bikes outbid restorodded ( modified )bikes....I don't totally except why. Your bike deserves A BIG DOLLAR VALUATION and obviously correspondingly high offer.
Cheers Ian.

I would value this Kat in the priceless range.
Therefore should not be sold under any circumstances...

Realistically I'd say 10+.

Yep, selling would suck Ben... there's no other viable option to enable this opportunity? That's too much of an awesome Kat to let go...

If you must then going by what I've seen advertised around the traps on eBay and Gumtree I think fair would be a +1 on Dave's $10k+... it's "worth" more as you well know but if the idea is to actually sell it then I think that's where you'd need to be...

Put 25k on it and then the missus can see that no one is bidding so it's a "No Sale"....Sorry Luv I tried !
Bloody nice bike but and would be a real shame to see her go.
Put a price that you feel good with then chuck a couple of bucks more on top.
Im sure it will sell in a heart beat.

Nige, it's not remotely female driven, long story short it's an opportunity to buy a bike that i lust after even more than the Kat (or my old RG for that matter!)... but I need to make it make financial sense first - no point heading down that road if I can't make it work and winding up with neither bike.

When you customize/build a bike to suit what you want it never makes financial sense to sell it. You have invested more into that than you will ever receive, it just comes down to how much of a hit you are prepared to take on it if you let it go. To me it would be a keeper and keep saving for the other bike. Even if you look for a basket case, it may take a few years but it will be worth it to have both in the shed.

Good luck with the decision.

Yeah, if i've learned anything, it's that cars and bikes I like are currently climbing faster than I can save for them...

..........your last sentence does kinda read like you are chasing an (alleged) pop-up thingy........:-)

All good mate just joking on the missus front . You just gotta do what you just gotta do as long as your OK once it has parted your shed and only the tinniest of regrets are felt.
