She's been around the clock. Happy Re-Birthday

Happy Re-Birthday to my 750 Kat. The rebuild was completed at 92,000 km, with mild port work, valve seat recut, squish clearance at 0.7 mm, hone and new rings. So with 8K under her belt she's well run in. Eaten through a rear tyre (just replaced). It fuels crisply, has good mid and some top end sizzle. Uses no oil. Steering is accurate, ride is stable at speed over bumps. Braking is very good with a radial master cylinder.

She is an absolute joy to ride

So, new plugs fresh oil (PAO/Ester) and filter. And ride, ride, and ride.

Great stuff Darryl, the 7fiddy turned out great, glad you're having so much fun with it!

That is a sweet looking scooter.

Do you have a close up of the decal below the choke dial please?

Sure, got it made by a local guy who can print custom decals from basically anything. Apart from the tank Suzuki decals everything else was printed by him. They are a little bigger than I envisaged, but they look ok.

Nice.

I think being off-set make it closer to the Imperial Japanese Navy ensign. The rising sun symbol pre-dates the Meiji/Hirohito Imperial military. I don't particularly like the Imperial Japanese Army, my grand-uncle was tortured to death by the Kempeitai in Singapore in 1943.

awesome - my 7fiddy went for its second trip round earlier this year whilst on a trip over to Oz's SE from the mid west (didn't ride across due to time though). As with yours it still runs like a dream and with some engine work completed rev's off the tacho (though I try not to treat here this way so much anymore...)! Engine has around 45,000km after a rebuild somewhere near 160,000km back in 2011.
