Yes, I've so been trawling the web to find anything to support this.
Personally, I think it is inevitable that the 'Katana' name will be re-invented to a newer frame / engine.
You just need to look at what all the other manufacturers are coming out with in terms of Retro.
I'd be astounded if that was the case... I reckon there's maybe 8-12" of standard Kat frame in it, if that (the rusty bit above the rad looks like it *might* be that crappy stamped bit from a Katana or GSX frame) Certainly, the kat/GSX backbone would have to be chopped to make room for the GSXR downdraft induction. Head angle is miles steeper than stock too.Apparently the frame is the top half of a standard tubular steel Kat frame

Well, shit, the GSXR induction fits... It *is* a GSX/Kat backbone!
Hmmmm... if that is indeed what's coming, doesn't look like the "newer" low and long version, looks more like a GSX-S1000 with different bodywork which, well, my 2 cents is just wrong... the Unicorn GSX1400 and Bandit recreations are much truer to original I reckon.
Well the rumour mill is in full drive ahead of 'Intermot' show in Germany.
Google Suzuki Katana Teaser and you'll get the idea.
Note there is now phase 1 & 2.
Given the time frames of the first two teasers, and the show commencing Oct 1, I estimate there could be another two teasers before the date.
