Bastard bastard bastard - after getting oversized piston set for my GS650M restore I get the barrels bored all set to put back together and the guy doing it (an engineer mate comes in to see me today and tells me)a ring snaps!! It must be St Paddies day and I think a truckload of Guinness is in store. Now I have to find a set of 1 x piston rings and wait even longer. First look is via US and hello looks like I can get a set for $20 but hello $40 postage and I am now waiting for reply not available. Otherwise I try to get through CMS Netherlands (they do have everything) but will it be another month and a bloody set of 4 as well (as were my piston sets).

Are these OEM pistons? If so Webike in Japan might be the answer.

they were original part numbers - pretty good site CMS but hell $320 Euros for piston sets $10 for circlips $60 euros for postage and then I got stung $160 by customs - bastards charge for everything - not just GST. This bike will be a keeper with the amount of money spent on it!!

Wow, $160 to Customs for that lot. Man, you blokes get hit hard. I thought we had it tough with Customs getting involved with imported parts when the order was over $1,000.

Yeh, I have spent more than $4,500 with CMS but all in amounts no more than $500 at ime and no customs tax.
Do you have to buy the full set or can't you just change the qty to 1 ( as I know they default to full qty )?

Well suzuki no longer allow rings (oversized) for this bike to be bought separately according to CMS. Bugger so I have to buy a piston and rings 80 Euro so all up with postage $160 $NZD Still less than $400 NZ so customs should not be charging (thats the current freebie amount). At least they have it in stock so its already in the air. So now I have 4 old ashtrays and will have a shiney new one for guests!!

Hey I take my hat off to CMS as I tried every other site possible and everyone came back stock is obsolete or didnt come back at all.
