Just acquired a GSX1100F that had been sitting in a garage for a few years, I have been told it was running prior to being sat. It has new plugs, leads but carbys need looking at.
Are they easy to balance off the bike(so I was told but dont believe it)? Are parts easy to get through Suzuki or other places?

cheers.

For your parts contact Mick Hone Motorcycles www.mickhone.com.au tel: 03 9890 0304 email: parts@mickhone.com.au

Mention you have joined this site and you will generally receive a discount.

More importantly you will find that he has a huge range of parts on hand for our models and will source if not. Plus his service is second to none.

If the bike's been sitting for more than 6 months you will need to pull the carbs off & strip them down & clean out all the jets & internal passages, I'm doing one set a week lately, fuel seems to be getting stale & turning to sludge quicker these days.

You can't balance carbs properly off the bike, you can set the butterflies up equally but you have to synchronise them when the engine is running to allow for airflow differences between the cylinders.

Stu,
dont let this turn you off but unless I'm mistaken your GSX1100F is the next generation of Suzuki.
does it look a bit like this?

if it does then, like I said it's the next gen engine that is found in the 1200 Bandit and GSXR's from '85-91 (ish).
They're a great bike but you mightn't find a lot of info on here.
definitely stay on the forum as its a great place to ask questions and catch up for rides but for more info, try this forum
