It is with a heavy heart that I bear the very sad news that Ian, 83KAT here on the Forum, has passed away suddenly at home. As many here on the Forum who have visited Ian and Sue at their home and been welcomed and invited to share their generous hospitality will be aware Ian had an absolute love and passion for the Katana. Ian was always willing to support the forum in any way he could as well as helping anyone in need be it bike trouble or a helping hand. A wonderful family man, an amazing person, a Katana Devotee, a true friend and mate who will be very sadly missed. Sue has asked me to post a message here to let others in the Katana community know of Ian's passing away. Alessandra and my thoughts are with Sue and Ian's family.

For those who wish to attend Ian's funeral, details will be posted here in the coming days.

Rest well Mate!

A very sad day for Ian's family and friends as well as the many of us here who had the pleasure of meeting Ian and getting to know him.
As Glen says he was always willing to lend a hand whenever information or anything Katana was required.

I considered Ian a great friend and will miss him very much. Mine and Olivia's thoughts are with Sue and the rest of Ian's close family.

May you rest in peace mate, goodbye Ian.

That's not fair. We've lost a genuinely nice guy, a Kat fan and ex-Serviceman.
Please pass my condolences to Sue and thank her for her and Ian's hospitality that they were happy to roll out at the drop of a hat.
RIP Ian.

Hi Glen,

As discussed earlier - please pass my sincere condolences on to Sue.

Ian will be surely and sorely missed - straight talker with a heart of gold.

Regards
Derek

Wow, I had the pleasure of meeting Ian on a run I did up to Qld. This is sad news, please pass on my condolences to Sue and family also. If there is going to be a collection for flowers for the funeral from KA or even to pass on to family let us know here, I will happily donate

RIP Ian

I was just thinking the other day I hadn't seen Ian and Sue or Eric and Olivia for way too long. This is extremely sad news and we have all lost a good bloke with his passing.

Please pass my condolences on to Sue and family, I'm sure she's devestated by his passing. They always seemed so happy together. I'll do my best to be at the funeral.

For the SoO folk, please raise a glass in my absence to Ian.

This is so sad to hear of Ian's passing. I would like to give Sue my condolences. He was a truly nice guy and as we all know a real passionate katana fanatic. He will be missed. Very shocking news for everyone.

WELL I am totally blown away. I was only talking to Ian last week all seemed okay with his jovial straight self. Saddens me to the max. Glen please let me know the funnel detail as soon as possible as I will be attending.

Thank you Tom, will let you know. Yes, a total shock to everyone! I was at Ian's place last Friday and now he's no longer with us! How is that fair!
