Hi forum
82' 750sz I had back in 84 a smooth Air Box ( the unit between crabs and fiter box ).

Did the "crabs" give you any trouble when you worked on the Kat and they must have restricted the air flow a bit?
Cheers.
Hi Dave, yes the Aussie 1982 SZ 1100S had the ripple airbox fitted O.E.M. out of the crate. Later replacement boxes may be different but the original boxes were ripple.Glen, could mine have been off an earlier model ? Bought mid 82 out of box.
Definately had smooth sides as I remember almost leaving the metal covers off when I had it repainted as it looked the same anyway ?
Early Times or Mr Cougar perhaps?
Cheers.
Hi forum
From my point of view, can offer the below observations.
82' 750sz I had back in 84 a smooth Air Box ( the unit between crabs and fiter box ).
82' 750sz model recently acquired and considered original has smooth air box.
Purchased 81' 1100sz air box on ebay which had chrome covers on sides of air box, these covered "ribbed" sides on box.
Note: modified chrome covers to fit onto 750 air box ( used a hammer ).
If you check out my restoration entry you will see the differences in the changes
