Hi

After a period of inactivity I have made some progress on my 82 750 Katana. Thanks again to Patrick for the manual.

I have been working through some running issues. Sorted the spark plug caps and cleaned out the carbs and the bike is great to about 80% throttle. Still some issues when pinned. I found a source of repro CV diaphragms and might bite the bullet and replace at some stage.

At this stage the Tacho in flat lining. I am not sure whether it is the input or unit itself.

Does anyone have a howto or tips on how to fix/ test? I was wondering whether a signal generator migtht be able to be used or oscilliscope.

There is a guy here is WA who makes the smoked plastic fairing screens. I am looking for a source of the thin black strip that goes around the edge?

cheers

Greg

If you have access to a function generator Kilo Hertz will equal RPM.
Most Function generators wont make a 12v peak to peak pulse, but you could use a transistor or smart FET to step up the voltage.

Checked inside for obivious broken tracks, solder and components?
