Quick community service announcement - if you have photos hosted on Photobucket, download the albums now and transfer it to another hosting service - Photobucket are disabling what they're referring to as "3rd Party Hosting" - so if you're using it to host pics for a thread, your images will be blocked from hosting. They're charging people in the uk 400 *pounds* to allow the linking. Rumour has it this is a last ditch attempt to get cashflow into photobucket before it goes the way of imageshack...
Anyway, download your shit, host it somewhere else and edit threads.

Oh, and delete your account with them. Fuckem.
This is going to leave a massive hole in the internet - thousands of threads with no images.
 
Well I can tell you this much, I'm not updating any of my pics. If the links die then it dies.

I have noticed though, if you open the image you want on Photobucket, you don't get options to share as the links are shadowed out but, you can still copy them. Also, if you select the little menu on the thumbnail of the pic and select share, you get the same old options; and the apple device app still works as it always did.
 
I'm updating my current pic's but that's probably about it unless someone wants something older specifically... takes so much time.

Photobucket will still let you do it all, but if you look at my thread you'll see what others see if you don't pay them their $400 ransom...
 
Some are still working, a lot are not... seems very random. I think you'll find it depends on how many you have up there and how many different places you link them... I had a lot linked in several different places for the wee beastie and the little Duc as well as the Kat.
 
I guess they calculate they will make more money out of the chumps that do go for their plan... However, seems that with all the alternatives the may just be limiting their growth. Once the good will has been lost, and people go elsewhere, there is no coming back.
 
That's the email that started the whole thing for me... no notice, just overnight you're now violating our terms of service... so bye! I think they need to eat a whole bag Ben...
 
It finally bit me. I've noticed a few of the first pics I put up on the Mongrel Kat build are still there so that must be a different format.
That's painful. Oh well. Two years of pics and info down the gurgler.
 
Same here, my photobucket account has been disabled for exactly what Ben (Gammaboy) has posted here. I have done something with an image from somewhere and have been told it was a third party something blah, blah, blah. I Couldn't give a rats what they do if that's their go. Just lucky I haven't used photobucket for the ground work images on the project Kat.
 
I still keep getting emails telling me features on my account have been disabled... funny seeing as I deleted my account so all features are disabled...

Seems to work a treat, I can only guess Photo-crap-it, will close this backdoor real quick, so suggest you find your fav internet pics and save them (right click copy image, and paste, works for me)
