For those that may not have experienced the ride onto Phillip Island for the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix here's a few old pics from '98.
The first pic is still some distance from the gate but gives an idea of the bikes .... the view looking back through my mirrors was even better (no picture)
the second was closer to the gate, then a few in the paddock ... Great Weekend.

Can't remember seeing another KAT there though.

Amazing - I went to the Superbikes last feb (by car slacker) and spent a lot of time looking at the bikes parked in the bikepark - nothing like this though
 
My Kat was there in 98 Chief. Pre-digital days but I should be able to arrange a copy of dodgy quality to post here. One of the photos I took of her was under the Swan Premium Grand Prix sign at Newhaven.

Hey pkay, The whole week end was fantastic. I liked how they had one lane for bikes only both on and off the Island.
no dramas, no accidents, no agro & no worries.

Hi Shin-Ken 1074, How good was the day huh ? I'll never forget the amount of people at Cowes waving and cheering us on as the bikes were leaving.
Yes pre digital as most of my pics are. I think i mentioned these pics to boogieman as part of my intro.
look forward to seeing any pics you may have.... I can't make the 35th, but may look at Phillip Island Moto GP 2016.

Yeah Chief, it was a great weekend that's for sure. The paddocks were jammed full of bikes and the crowd was fantastic. I'll try and scan the photos once I dig them up from wherever they are hiding and see what they look like. With the chance Stoner may be riding at The Island this year I am thinking of making the trip.
