Hey fellas, long shot here but thought someone may have some ideas...

My little Acewell dash has had some moisture seep in recently and while it still works as a speedo/tacho it's causing some issues with the buttons and of course the moisture under the lense is somewhat annoying.

Anyone have any ideas on how to safely get the fascia off so I can dry it out and get some silicon or similar in there to seal it up again?

It's been a great gauge for the 5+ years it's been on there so I don't want to replace it if I can avoid it...

Well I had an almost-win yesterday... turns out it's not so hard to get into it at all! The front fascia screws off... if I had've realised this the other week then I could've prevented the permanent damage which is the reset microswitch getting too corroded and failing.

I reckon I can replace that though.

The issue definitely has been caused by rain pooling while it's been sitting and some has seeped past the O ring in the reset switch. I couldn't see a problem with the O ring but obviously there's something not quite right there... and it's tiny... something like 1.5mm internal diameter and just under 3mm outside diameter.

Pete,
replace the switch, and put back to gether sealing said oring with a neutral cure silcone..

I might have some of those switches too what dimensions?

Cheers John, sounds like a plan to me! I didn't measure the switches of course... but they're 5mm LED's on there so looks like the switch will be about 5mm square... the button is maybe 2mm's tall?
