NZ Castrol 6 Hour - Dave Hiscock and Neil Chivas on the rare Black Piper

Kiwialfa

GSX750S Rider

The rarest of all the factory GSX1100. The GSX1100T (E27) "Black Piper". Essentially all the E27 SXZ go fast bits on a 'Fat Lady/Beko' the year before the Katana was released and raced. Wider Takasago rims on wires, VM32 carbs, 33mm black chrome pipes (the inners were chrome). Reputedly only 5 units built specifically for this race.

Hi Darryl, have there been any confirmed recent sightings of any of these bikes?

I was surprised at the existence of Beko with VM32. I'm probably the only one in Japan who knows it right now.

Hi Takahiro san, I see that the domestic (Japan only?) GSX750E (Beko style)
has a device on the bottom of the fork. Was this some kind of anti-dive? Not in this picture.

Hi Darryl, thank you for the photos. The diameter of the pipe outlet looks the same as Katana's SM and SL.

Hi Derek, Japanese GSX750E1 and GSX750E2 have this type ANDF system: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/531024647
GSX750E3 is the same center axle type fork and ANDF as KatanaSZ, but the inner tube diameter is 35mm. And all(except type 4) Japanese GSX750E have iron swingarms like GS.

Thank you. Yes that is it. Never seen it myself outside of Japan. Did it work?

Thank you Takahiro San.

Perhaps in the future - but not right now. I am still finishing off a Katana, Beko, 50cc Zundapp and a 50cc Minarelli....
