All good mate and i have booked a cabin for the 35th and plan of attack is to get to Sydney's Kingsford Smith airport and get to Nige place and i can pick you up from there and put you up at my place.

There are 3 Runs we can take to Khancoban. First is straight down the Hume Freeway to Wodonga then turn off to Corryong then to Khancoban as there is plenty of rest areas and fuel. There is also a good ride along he Hume Weir to Walwa if people are interested.
Second is down the Hume Freeway turning off at Goulburn to Tarago then to Queanbeyan to Cooma then into Jindabyne and ride through the Kosciuszko National Park to Tom Groggins and then to Khancoban. We must be at the Thredbo Village ranger station before 3.00pm as the wildlife starts to get very active then. Again fuel and rest areas are good.
Third is when you depart Khancoban you can head west for eight K's and then turn off for the Mt Selwyn Snow Fields and then to Kiandra. Ride to Tumut on the snowy mountains hwy and then ride to Gundagai and head home via the Hume freeway and it is important that if you do these last two runs you stick together as it is a great ride and i have done them on several occasions and even when the weather has not been the best. This is a big ride and it will require an early departure from Sydney as we will need to be on the road by 7.00am

I should have sort out the accommodation in a couple of days. We will not be staying in the caravan park due to the owner had passed away and the park is waiting for new management to take over. So stay tune and I'll have some good news in a couple of days. Cheers.

I rode to Khancoban a few years ago. Left Sydney at 8am.
Went to Liverpool (via normal peak hour traffic) to see kid of one of the riders and left there at 9.30.
Went to Canberra, got lost, saw a brother of same rider, left there around 2.
Cooma at 4.30, hung round while same rider called work. Left Cooma at 5
Kiandra some time after that.
Missed the turn to Khancoban and went to Tumut. Fuel and back to Kiandra where we missed the turn by about 2km.
Khancoban around 9.30pm.

So it is an easy ride if you don't stop to visit family, don't smoke and don't miss the turn off.
Snowy Mountain Highway is an awesome bit of road.

Actually did it in June for the Alpine Rally. Left Goulburn around 8.30-9.00 and arrived at campsite around 2, which was about 40km past Khancoban turnoff.

Not sure where I am going with this, but it may help. Or not.

Ahhhh...after 3 weeks I have finally sorted out the accommodation (please see top page). I sincerely apologise for the delay due to the fact that I am waiting for the answers from a few accommodation and not to mention I was sick. Please do make your own bookings ASAP.

Cheers.

We have booked our accommodation. Derek, Nige, Pete and myself plus 2 of my friends.
