G'day Gray am I (aren't most of us?)and welcome. A fun little bike. As a young married father of four in need of a new bike and wanting fuel economy and range as I was travelling 130/140 k daily to work I bought a new RED GS550m, trading in the last of three 750 fours I had owned. A much sportier bike compared to a 650g(chain drive and a 6 speed transmission) which allowed fitment of 1 tooth larger front sprocket (after chain stretch) to reduce RPM @ cruise and increase MPG sorry KPL. Did over 93,000 K in under three years, fitted "ACE bars" and Avon roadrunners, mixing it with the big boys "I was never FAST but I was never LAST!" They are a little underpowered. In latter years while reminiscing over a quite beverage or two I often thought what a great little machine you could build by fitting a latter GXS550 engine or similar/larger,...anyway have fun and enjoy, cheers Ian.

.PS The only problems I had was two stators and one regulator/rectifier AND a silly bitch pulled into me and knocked me C#NT UP!
