I currently have the biggest grin on my face since the delivery of my V max. My Katana was delivered at 0800 h this morning.
I filled the tank, gave the bike a once over to make sure everything was tight, light check etc and then out for a short ride to she how she went.

All seems to be good... a few small issues that I will be sorting out in the coming weeks. It has a flat spot at about 4000 Rpm, Im sure a good clean out of the carbs will resolve this. Also the accelerator cable is either to long or routed the wrong way and is rubbing on the fairing. All minor issues and im looking forward to having a tinker.

Im one very happy biker :D

awesome - nice bike.

As you suspect - the accelerator cable routing is incorrect - shouldn't go across top of fairing - should drop into fairing (might be too long as you say.)

Yeah Im guessing the cable is too long although I will play around with it on the weekend.
The 750 is a good fun bike the amount of comments and thumbs up I got were above average.

Full power Scotty
Yes, it does feel good getting the looks and comments
Enjoy the weekend, hope weather is good for a coffee run

The Mother in law will be visiting this weekend mate so im hoping the weathers great for an all day coffee run

Great see your Kat has arrived and you are happy with her. Yes, the cable is way too long, it's a cable for a JDM 750 that are fitted with the high riser bars. A swap for the stock cable will have it sorted. Nick is always on the lookout for the longer cables for his JDM still fitted with the high bars.

Cheers.

Congrats on the 750 and thanks Glen as on one of Steve's trips back to Japan i have a brand new throttle cable as spare and by all means replace your cable for the shorter one and keep the older cable as a spare.
Nick

Where do I start looking for the correct cable? couldn't find one on Evil bay? Niick you can have this cable if you want its rubbing on my fairing and I wont want that once I've repainted them mate.

Thanks MK, If all goes well i will meet you at the 35th and my shout for a couple of drinks. If you needs parts give Mick Hone a call and they will be able to help. My bike shop up in Sydney can also get parts but most times you have to wait as it is always on back order.

Ok, my Katana is a recent import. accelerator cable, clutch cable and front brake hose are all to long, Id suggest due to being fitted with JDM bars. Are these bars available? if so who? or where? and will it be easier to change these items to shorter and retain the Normal bars? I do like a more upright riding position but are the longer cables etc going to be difficult to replace in the future?

The longer cables are only available in Japan as this was the only market to have very high bars fitted to the 750 Kat. Nick would be the best bloke to talk to about finding a supplier for the longer cables. Did I mention the JDM bars are really high and make a Kat look somewhat odd? Don't sweat it, if the high bars are what you like go for it although you will have to find a set in Japan unless you can score a set from one of the Importers when they have ditched the high bars and replaced them with stock clip-ons.

Unless you have your own spare long cables you will be in strife if you break one. You won't be going anywhere soon because there are none in Australia.

Unless you are wanting the stock look, a set of Hel braided brake lines are a good option to replace the JDM long hoses - and they are a fraction of the cost compared to buying a set of genuine brake hoses.

Cheers.
