There I was surfing the net for Katana info and I stumbled upon this site in Japan, yeah who would a thought! Anyway reading through the page and there is my baby in her O.E.M. glory. I took the photo at my place back in 2011 and now here she is two timing me on a Japanese Kat site - naughty little Kat. I wonder what else she has been getting into while I am not looking?

That is absolutely awesome Glen!

..Glen, they would be really struggling to find a fairly original SXZ.....they all love to modify theirs so much....

Your are right on the money there Ian. A very common theme for Kat owners in Japan is to mod their Kats and give them some individuality rather than keep them stock. There are very few stock Kats of any model in Japan these days. Frankie told me he couldn't remember seeing a full on stock Kat on his trips to Japan. Some mods are very subtle with only minor changes like shocks and pipes and they go on from there to stuff that looks like something from a Transformer movie set. With the quality and range of aftermarket goodies available in Japan it would be hard to resist adding some of the amazing gear they have for sale.

Google translate of the text, your bike is rare glen!
Rare export specification?
In rare vehicle than a sense Limited, spoke specification exists.
Is a "SXZ" spoke version of SZ.
The thing with several exist, such as US specifications and NZ specification, sightings than Limited is small.

Thanks for the translation Darklord, I like it. The Babblefish struggled with this Q&A about the bar weight on the Kat:

Q: Since the genuine grip end do not like, I believe the exchange.
Please tell me if there is something that can be installed on the Katana.

A: genuine grip end, not just a decoration.
In order to reduce the vibration transmitted to the steering wheel, you are attached to those of the proper weight.
Therefore, numbness hand at a considerable vibration and remove.
Also, most of what is sold as market goods, because it is intended for pipe handle, it can not be attached to the genuine handle.

Hahahaa love the Jenglish!!! Always good for a chuckle...

That's great stuff Glen, gotta be good to trawl the Interwebs and find a pic of your very own Kat sitting there looking at you :D

Good stuff Glen. :D Looks like both our Kats are sneaking out on other sites. :p

I can understand the desire to customize a kat. That's why I have the second one (Kat 3).

Thanks Ken, you are spot on about having more than one Kat to address the stock, mod/custom situation. The Kat certainly improves in areas with a bit of a tweek here and there and of course having some individual touches to make it your own is always a good thing as well. I would like to always have a Kat that is or can be returned to stock to highlight just how groundbreaking they were from the style and form standpoint. To this day I still smile everytime I look at my Kat and just think wow, that is all I ever want in a bike. Some might say the big Kat isn't perfect, not me.

Cheers.
