Modification to mudguard requirements.

......don't you just love it - when a new bike with its ADR mudguard removed - is considered safer than say a Katana mudguard that is cut a little shorter - but still in fact longer than a GSX original length guard........

Yes drillit and the arse end of a Kat lower than a modern sporty!!Where do they come up with there solutions, answers and reasonings?

I don't think it'll bother them anymore.
Besides, my Kat is slightly higher than standard and with the plate mounted straight under the light, it's almost 45 degrees off horizontal anyway. Pu it doesn't mention anything about the top and forward requirement anymore, stating that the bodywork can form part of the protection.

A plate mounted at that angle in WA will incur a $1000.00 on the spot fine now.

Not the angle of the plate ThomasJ, I'm talking about the bottom of the plate intersecting an imaginary line drawn at 45 degrees upward and aft through the rear axle which was the requirement of the old rules. So even with no other form of a mudguard, Katana's still meet the stricter version of the rule.
We're all good.
