Placed an order for 28 Kat parts today with Steve in Suzi parts at Mick Hone. Mick had every part in stock, great Suzi parts support from Mick Hone once again!

No I don't work for or have any connection with Mick Hone apart from being a very happy Suzuki owner however, I think Mick and his team are worthy of praise due to the outstanding support they provide to Katana owners.

Looking forward to the parcel arriving, in lockdown here in Brisbane for 3 days so drooling over new Kat parts will be like sport this week.

Cheers.

Good deal Glenn, there is no equivalent to Mick Hone for our Kats, and he's even been able to sort out most of my wee beastie needs as well. Fingers crossed Australia Post let you get your goodies in time for the long weekend!

Could not agree more. I've bought a lot of Suzuki parts (most of them Kat parts) from Mick over the past few years. Great service, great stock and great guys.

Yeah Pete, agree with you on that! And for some Kat parts the price for new genuine from Mick is almost the same as the price of used parts when they are listed as "Rare" and owners don't check with Mick for availability and price. Would be good to have them before long weekend but not worried about when the parts arrive, they are for the DW180 Project Kat and the frame is still with Dave being sorted.

Cheers.

I have said many times how quick Mick Hone can get parts to Westralia....................... and the wealth of knowledge and the depth of stock on hand is truly amazing.

Even has new tanks (at the moment)

True on that Tom. Those new tanks are from the last batch of Katana tanks Suzuki will supply. They are painted Sonic Silver as these are JDM tanks, not 13L but a pretty close match.

The tanks are like the batch of 20 McIntosh Katana swing arms Mick arranged with Ken, once they are gone that is it.

Those considering purchasing should know that JDM tanks have less capacity than their predecessors due to the space of the clutch assist motor.

Hi Takahiro San, I have bought one of these new Kat tanks and they have been made without the electric clutch motor cavity installed so are vintage Katana shape underside. The detail I should have mentioned is they are painted in JDM Sonic Silver rather than classic 13L.

Cheers.

真剣 San, really???!!!?:?: So why are they painted with Sonic Silver metallic? Can you show the part number of the tank you bought?

Takahiro

Hi Takahiro San, the new Kat tank I bought has part number:

44110-49304-YD8
Tank Fuel Silver

Is that helpful?

Glen.

I'm afraid I'm unable to find out anything certain with the part number after all. People can no longer order fuel tanks in Japan. If the tanks are exactly as 真剣 san explained, they would be very valuable.

Despite this year's 40th anniversary of the debut of the SZ, I recently heard that many of Katana-parts were suddenly discontinued.

Hi Takahiro San, Suzuki Australia have advised that the current batch of new Katana fuel tanks in stock in Australia have been sourced from Suzuki and will be the last batch of Katana fuel tanks Suzuki will provide.

Hi Takahiro San, Yahoo Japan has a new Kat fuel tank listed, different part number to the Australian fuel tank however, the Japan listed tank does not have the reduced fuel capacity due to the clutch motor cavity.

Australian part number: 44110-49304-YD8

Yahoo Japan part number: 44100-49391-YD8

I also looked at the auction. The color also looks like 13L. This auction is a private property listing and the price is too high. Actually, there is a store that accept orders with the part number(44100-49391-YD8). Will the following addresses be displayed normally on your PC?

https://www.monotaro.com/g/02500124/

The above store is famous in Japan for handling a wide range of things, and the tank with that part number is still sold for 81212 yen. But I don't think anyone can actually buy it, though I haven't tried it. Nobody should be able to order Katana tanks with any part number now in Japan.

Is the shape of the lower side of the new tank you bought exactly the same as that of the SZ tanks? I may be persistent.

Hi Takahiro San, yes, the new Kat tank I bought is exactly the same size and shape for the outside and lower-side (underneath) as original 1982 SZ fuel tank.

The link you provided for Monotaro does display on my P.C. however, I do not know how to translate from Japanese to English on the homepage.

You did a very good shopping. I have nothing more to say about the tank to you.

Is the tank page for part number 44100-49391-YD8 really displayed correctly? If so, you will have to translate by copy and paste one sentence at a time. But perhaps no one can buy this.

If anyone here wants to buy this, I can buy it on behalf of anyone here. However, I can't guarantee that the color of the tank is 13L or not, and the capacity is 22L or 19L, and the shipping cost will not be cheap. Well, I don't think the order will actually be processed.

Hi Takahiro San, the new Katana fuel tank still available from Suzuki Australia are JDM GSX1100SL model fuel tanks, part number 44100-49391-YD8, Silver.

Yen = 105,317

AUD = $1,250.

That's great. SL is essentially JDM, but not officially JDM. The SL tank is the same as the SZ.
