GSX250S Rider
Hi All,

My name is Matt.
I live in Logan, Brisbane.
I bought my first Suzuki on Sunday. It only took Boogieman 20 years of raving about them to convince me to get on board. That is consistent Peer Pressure.
So far... It starts, has brakes and a jammed clutch. A work in progress, but it will get there.

I have already met some of you, as I went on last years SoO as support crew. My main role was supplying smart ar*e remarks, back up driver and being Canon Fodder for riding a Honda.
Had a blast and decided to join the group.

Current Bikes:

04 Blackbird. Owned since new. Also my first bike.
83 1100 Katana. Owned since 12/3/17. Second bike.

Welcome Matt,

Shouldn't your forum name be Hazkatt?

Looking forward to seeing you around the traps and at Power O.

Cheers.

Haha hey Matt, welcome! Glad to have you aboard and glad to see you've seen the light!

We'll happily tolerate your Hooonda at Power O now seeing as you've got a real bike as well :D

Hi Matt and welcome to the Forum mate. Nothing like having a Brother put the lean on you for 20 years eh! In this case it was for the better and it doesn't get any better than being a Kat owner, O.K. maybe a lifetime free pass to the V.I.P. Ekka apple fritter stall but the Kat is a close second.

Looking forward to Kat-ching up with you Matt and your Kat sometime soon and having you along for the SOO again. Last year was tops, thanks for the laughs my ribs took a week to recover. No wait, that was the kidney that had to recover.

Cheers,
Glen.

G'day Matt and welcome. Good to see another Queensland KAT.... we need more Kats on our side of the river and way out here in the wild west. Congratulations on your new endeavour and all the best on the new project. It certainly won't go to plan, shit just look at my last two years. But keep at it...brother BEN will be good inspiration....cheers, looking forward to catching up. Ian:)

Hey Matt welcome aboard.
"Starts and has brakes" is all you need.
Look forward to catching up again
Dave

Looking forward to another Power-O kat, welcome Matt.

Hmmmm.... "starts and has brakes" starts is good... brakes are overrated, they only slow you down....

Glen,

I'm hoping that if I do manage to get that lifetime free pass to the V.I.P. Ekka apple fritter stall, I don't end up in a Pantene Commercial!!
The laughs were huge in the support truck.

Looking forward to getting the bike going. Will def be doing some rides and should be there for SOO. Just need to know when it is?

Welcome Matt
Agree with Dave as once rode a Kat back in '84 from Greenbank to Coolongatta ( pussy was the driving force ) and clutch cable broke around Yatala Pie Shop ( the old one ).
Morale is if it starts and stops, you can change gears with rev's.

Am sure Ben has told you the group is a good bunch, but you will see that more yourself as you ask questions along the way.

Cheers
Stuart

Hi Matt, yeah the pantene could be a worry! SOO for this year is in Sep, the details are in "Events Coming Up" section of the Forum. There are a few of us planning to ride down on the Friday and of course you are very welcome to join in if you like. Looking forward to hearing more about your new Kat and some pics when you get the chance next time you are at Ben's.

Cheers mate,
Glen.

Hi Matt, 12:00 noon, before is 11 - something after is 12 - something. 11-- cc or 12--cc morning or afternoon Kat.

Thanks for the pic Matt, Derek will need medication after he spies the front rotors. The rest of us aren't concerned with arse-about rotors in fact some like the look. However, for others (read Derek) back to front rotors are very distressing. Interesting photo, SE frame and front wheel, what appears to be an 86 GSX-R1100 4.00 rear wheel, looks like an Effy oil cooler. All very nice, well done. Do you know the month and year stamped on the VIN plate?

Cheers mate.

Makes absolute sense. 1100.
The rotors and Derek's reaction are the first thing Ben mentioned too.
Before we got it started, i wanted to change the colour. Now that it's started, I don't care, I just want to ride it!
Get the rear brake working. Work out the Clutch issue, tyres and rego. Plus everything else that pops up on the way.
The rear wheel is 3.5".
Not 100% on the Compliance month but off the top of my head 02/83.

Yeah, I can see the veins bulging around Derek's temples as he looks at the front end.................priceless! A 3.50 rear, so it's an 1985 750 wheel. Bugger the paint, don't need rear brake, fit some new rubber and let's ride!

Matt, some of us have afternoon kats, others are just morning (mourning) kats, ask Ben for clarification, he has an afternoon kat now.

What is the clutch problem?, they are easy to work on and 'sort'.... some of us also have some bits tucked away....

Glen.... I'm with Drillit.... arse-about discs are just wrong...
