Happy New Year to you all.
Hope you had a good break and still avoiding and are safe from any of the fires that are still going as it has been incredibly bad for many people?

I was having a chat with Derek when he was down this way and we are looking for a filler Katch-up shortly.
We are looking for a weekend of possibly the of March the 27th.
I suggested Walcha caravan park for lodgings with a day trip down the Oxley on the Saturday with lunch at Port Macquarie then back up the hill for afternoon beers then dinner.
Frankie says the usual suspects down here dont care were it is but will turn up.
We have had a couple of mid season get together up at Tamworth and were fantastic weekends. I missed the SoO 2019 which was a bummer so am keen for a ride and to see the Northerners again.
We will fill you all in on the finer details and solid dates once Derek,Frankie,Glen and I have a proper chat.

WHEN : Friday 27th - Sunday 29th March 2020


Sydney meeting point on the 27th March 2020
Meet : Mcdonald's Windsors car park in Mcgraths Hill.
When : 8am with a full tank of juice.( petrol that is )
Leave 8.30 sharp.

Qld meeting point on the 27th March 2020
Meet up at the BP Servo near the Sundowner Saloon on the Warrego Hwy Butlers Rd junction, fueled up and leaving at 08:00 - QLD time

***Group ride is on the 28th***

Hi Nige, thanks for the post giving this one a shake, 27th sounds good mate, but sign me up for whichever weekend you go with. Ya sold me with beers back at Walcha. Getting in some practice right now with a few ice cold beers on a hot Friday arvo!

Hi Nige,
My trips up the Pacific Hwy recently have stated the Oxley Hwy has reopened but there has been changes due to the fire that went through??

27 March is all good with me Nige .......... or whatever. A return trip on the Oxley, mmmm, best get me some new tyres and start going to the gym.
 
Sounds like a good idea.
I’ll pencil as need to see where current projects are finishing so can prepare and enjoy a full weekend

Count me IN either weekend...

Hopefully the Oxley will be repaired by then, apparently back in November retaining walls, road surface, guard rails all got burned in a section down from gingers creek roadhouse.
Currently vehicles get escorted thru the affected section.
I say go anyway regardless, recovering fire affected communities need the tourist trade.

Yeh Thanks John. I totally agree also.
It is a bit of toss of the coin for sure as that part of the world has been hit pretty hard.
If we can get in a good ride up and down the hill it will be a bonus.
If not there is some local rds we can get out on anyway.

Hi Folks, for the QLD/Nth NSW Kat riders, anyone interested in joining Derek and myself for the run to Walcha is very welcome. We are planning to meet up at the BP Servo near the Sundowner Saloon on the Warrego Hwy Butlers Rd junction, fueled up and leaving at 08:00 - QLD time. The ride down has some nice off Hwy sections eg: via Boonoo Boonoo and Thunderbolt's Way from Uralla to Walcha.

Cool I may be up for a new set also.
Up the Putty is as far as I've got so far. We may be hooking up with Soxy (Scone maybe) and I am not sure if Max is coming up also.
The path is a bit up in the air at the Mo.
