Katanas a plenty in the Aussie 6 Hour

Ah, Amaroo Park with it's dirt and grass pit lane and bugger all run-off areas, when bikes were made of steel and riders were even tougher! Good one Darryl.

Cheers.

I have often wondered if the number 6 Rod Cox Kat is the one i own as it is a ex JCW Rod Cox Kat. All i now is he won the Adelaide Hub 300 on it i already new it was his old race bike but Jeff Cliffton from Suzuki Aus confirmed this one day when i was trying to buy a flywheel for it and he told me he could get but it would have to be made 3 months later tada it turned up he told me all the Kat flywheels were changed to a smaller unit so the scrutineers didnt no that that wasnt the original flywheel. Cheers Murf.

Came across some info on Rod cox in a old Revs Mag.
Pirelli Three-Hour Production Race
Rod Cox [30] on the Campbelltown World of wheels Katana ,
headed the 750 class runners
with 1min 22.51 Lap.

Cox crashed on the fast left handed
under Dunlop bridge "the back tyre just let go"
said cox later ,nursing a painful left shoulder,
adding it was his last race on Pirelli tyres. He
claimed the Pirelli tyre fitters had given him a "Standard "
120-90 instead of an SP version, Asked what he intended to do, Cox replied: Run Dunlops!

Hiscock {1} gave the Katana 1100 it's world debut win.The 750 a month earlier.

Thank you Patrick,
however, my question was about the race at Kyalami South Africa, which was melwain's posting. I have watched more or less videos about the Castrol 6 hour races up until now. But I haven't watched videos about races at SA. I would like to watch videos in which Kats ran in race at SA, too.
