Hi Phil, good info and it's pretty right for most of it. The two main issues are that there were never any "Prototypes" released anywhere in the world and the photo of the 1100 "Prototype" is a poorly modded standard Kat, why take the side-stand off ? And the big one is Suzuki Germany approached Target Design to sound them out regarding tweeking the GSX1100 in the looks department for the local market. When the initial drawings by Jan Fellstrom were presented to Suzuki Germany and then passed up the line to Hamamatsu, Suzuki agreed that this was the look they wanted for a new bike and commissioned Target Design to deliver a running prototype for the Colone Show in 1980. Lucky for us it all worked out.
