It's finally done!

Gents!
I finally got the bodywork back from the painter and my 84 SE Kat 1100 is finished! Now it's time to put it on club plates and enjoy it for a bit as I have to sell it. If you know someone that wants a 'new' Katana 1100 in the best Katana colour scheme, let me know...
Cheers, Stuart.

Having invested a lot of time, money, and effort in refurbing a bike myself, all I can say about selling it is, "don't be fucking stupid"

You will never get the money you put in, and there's no accounting for the effort and time.
Whether financial, relationship, or other heartache, whatever is the "reason" it will pass.

Yeah you can buy another bike later, but it wont be "that" one.

Just my 2 c
Cheers John

I have to agree with John. Speaking from experience, my current project, 84 pop up Canadian LTD, was once mine back in 1987. For who knows what reason I sold it back then. I have been one of the lucky one. I found my old Kat and now own it for a second time.....however it had been badly abused by various owners over the years and I have had to put the cash and sweat equity into it to get it back to almost factory condition. Speaking from experience, keep it.

Mate she's a beauty! And that's also my favourite of the stock colour schemes, although there is something outstanding about the original all 13L as well of course...

Bugger having to sell, must give a +1 to John's comment as well.

Exactly what the others have said in all aspects.

Awesome job. Really, really great.

Sell it ?

Pretend you don't have it. Adjust the finances as if the Katana isn't there. Do anything but sell.

You've done such an outstanding job, an it's obviously not just "a bike" to you.

Great colours. Great work.

A credit to you. :)

EDIT.

My Dad traded his silver/black pop up back in 95 after a refurb like you've done. Traded it on a new (back then) BMW K75.

Has spent 23 years explaining how the K75 goes just as well as the pop up...…

"Why are you still talking about the Katana then Dad ? " ;)

There's no pictures of the Beemer on the wall.

The Katana's there though....;)

Great job on the build Stuart. Sorry to hear you want to sell the Kat. I understand what you must be thinking because I've been there twice and regretted my decision twice. I'm still dealing with my car anxieties. Don't rush into any quick decisions and read what John and the others have said. Remember, you may never get another. Good luck either way.

Merry Christmas
K
