GSX250S Rider
Hi guys and girls, I own a 1982 Kat GS1000S and currently restoring it, I purchased it a couple of years and did a couple of small rides on it, Bangkok to Phuket to get it home and then Phuket to Hellfire pass and return for 2015 ANZAC day.
Bike was complete and in reasonable condition but in need of a resto.
I used to own a 750 Kat around 1984 and always wanted another, time now allows me to do that.
I'm an Australian living in Thailand, I also have a Versys 650 I use for touring around Thailand.
Well that's me in a nutshell.

Hi and welcome to the Forum. The Katana Club in Thailand has a few members, are you in with them?

Cheers.

Howdy, the thou is a bit rarer than the eleven. Do you have any history on it? Looking forward to seeing pics of the resto.

No I don't have any history unfortunately but most of the Kats in Thailand have been imported from Japan, a lot bought in as spare parts to avoid import duties.
They would buy a bike complete, it would then be disassembled and imported that way, they've since closed that loop hole.
I assume mine was the same but all numbers match & was registered.
Yes the 1000 is rarer than most, I looked for about 3 years before I found mine so very happy.
