I'm back for more punishment

Hi All,

I was previously a member of this forum and have restored an 85 Pop Up in the past sharing the experience, from memory on the old forum site.

My son, now very interested in motorbikes has asked that we do a project together. Being a glutton for punishment , I have recently acquired an 84 Pop Up so that I can have a matching pair, one for each son to hold onto.

Anyhow, given that I have done this before I am hoping this process is a little less painful than the first time I went through it.

Im sure I will be around here regularly from now on.

Welcome back! These old beasts are quite addictive, I've done my 450 and my Kat, but suspect there will be a desire for another one in the not too distant future.

Thanks guys. Just need to get the B#@$% started and then can look at cosmetics. I have a lead on an airbox and already have have two sets of carbies...34mm minkunises and the originals. both in excellent cond.

I also have a lead on a donor bike...somehow have a knack of finding these.

Welcome back 85Kat, enjoy the time restoring but more importantly make the most the time with your boys!

I too am planning on restoring another big Kat (1100) this time, still yet to pick it up. Basket case in bits.
