Hunter Valley storms

Bit of a wild ride, we haven't had power since monday night, have got the tropical esky loaded with block ice and supplies, portable cookers on the bench and still have cold running water so all still good for us , We haven't had flood issues where I am but alot of trees down on power lines etc, camping and hardware shops are flat out trading with no power by walking customers through the shops one by one to help people with cooking and lighting supplies using the old zip zap card machines, generator sales are through the roof and same with servo's ( and they haven't put their prices up to their credit thankfully).
Haven't heard anything from Josh on the central coast or Terry in Newcastle so have no idea how they are coping
The Kats are safely stored in the garage away from danger with the wog bike
Got a little bit of mobile sevice tonight at last not sure how long it will last as land lines and mobile towers are down as well
But we're safe and there's even room for a couple of beers in the esky
Please spare a thought for the ones that haven't been as lucky
Also hope you Sydney boys are safe and sound
Now the weather warning has gone its time for the clean up

Cheers
Max

Good to hear you're safe and sound Max, thanks for letting us know. I hope the others are ok too!

Glad all is good Max.No power is not too much of a problem but flooding sucks big time so you are lucky there. All cool in my little world. Dont know of anyone in my circle of friends that has any major issues down here. I think a lot of it is media storm in a tea cup stuff. But do feel for the people up north that copped it big time.
Sun was out yesdy which was nice though.

Good to hear you fellas are all ticking along well - As long as theres still a beer in the esky the worlds not a bad place to be!!

Faaaaaarrrrkkk, ordered a 5kw continuos sine wave generator (want a big one for a back power supply for my house when I start building) online drove down to sydney (2 1/2 hours each way) to pick it up and had to go to there other warehouse as they were out of stock, drove to the other warehouse to find out some retard misread the docket and had to go back to the original warehouse to get the right one. Ok I can handle that so off I go 2 1/2 hours back home thinking you beauty gunna have power when I get home. Nope no such luck fill the oil check, fresh fuel check, connect battery check, keys and remotes check, turn fuel tap "on " check, turn the key click click click ok flat battery no worries grab the jump pack all good motor starts straight up yehaa go to get a light to try and motor dies before plugging light in hmmm play with controls starts again then dies repeat process several times sounds like it's starving for fuel, find fuel filter ok empty play with fuel tap some more to discover on is actually off and vica versa cool we are away racing again, plug a fluro in drawing 62 watts on the economy setting then the display tells me over power and shuts motor off ( insert more swear words here ) so I bump it up to high power all is good. Take it around tbe back of the house, run 2 leads out 1 for us and 1 for the neighbor who has 2 kids that require nebulizers and has already lost a fortnights worth of food from the freezer, go inside turn the fluro on yep all good turn the tv on so far so good but no everything shuts down (more swearing)go out unplug every thing again restart genset back inside plug the light in yep good plug tv in and same result went out to genset reset and started again this time I left the tv and light plugged in, watched the meter go up to 132 watts with the genset running at full stick only to watch it die again, this time lots of swear words fuck it time for a beer turned everything off in disgust threw some more beer in the esky.Nothing I can do now until monday
Rant over time for another beer
