Hi everyone love your site I'm 52 years young and have had my Katana 1984 1100se now for 28years now. Don't ride the girl much now but would like to put club rego on her now. Have other bikes that I ride and now that my wife has just gotten her license now we enjoy rides together with our group of friends.
Cheers Glenn.

Welcome Glenn! That's pretty cool you can ride with your wife now too, good stuff!

Hi Glenn, and welcome aboard. Well done on owning the SE for 28 years. Have you been able to find the starting problem and get her running? We have a Katana weekend ride ( State Of Origin = S.O.O.) each year that overnights in Nambucca Heads that you and your wife are very welcome to attend. The Sydney crew usually have a group ride to Nambucca, which part of NSW are you in?

2017 S.O.O. thread:

Yeah I use to double her then we went for a ride with friends and a lot were girls on bikes and they convinced her to get her license. I still wish she didn't have her license only because it is very dangerous and 2 years ago couldn't ride a bike and now has a KLX140 trail bike and a Harley Davidson Street 500 but to become a good rider takes years and a lot of time in the saddle.
Cheers Glenn.

I checked the battery, starter relay and seems to be ok so I'm going to take out the starter motor today to check it I was wishing it was the starter relay because of cost. But it's looking more like to be the starter motor.
Cheers Glenn.

Hi Glenn and welcome from WA. I noticed your location was Kings Park and thought you were in WA as well. Are you near Lalor Park? Tom

Welcome Glenn.
If you haven't removed the starter yet, try cranking it on the starter switch and when it's Clicking, have someone tap the starter lightly with either a very small hammer, or an extension bar from ratchet set.
Of course it's better if you remove the top cover first.

Sometimes the carbon brushes have issue and with old starters there can be a build up carbon dust between the contacts and that stops it rotating.

Cheers
Stuart

Welcome Glen. Shame she wasn't ready for yesterdays ride.

Nige
Yeah Nigel maybe next time. Yesterday she did a Street 500 ride with another 12 Street 500 riders and i tagged along at the back for support.
Cheers Glenn.

Hey Glenn and welcome. I only just bought a Kat recently. This is a great site. Shame you couldn't make the ride last weekend. It was a great day and met some really good people. Look forward to meeting you on the next kat ride.

Marty.
