Hi Folks, I have been trying to find the specs for a pair of GSX cams and so far no joy with manuals. Could someone help me with the specs for these Suzi cams? The inlet is numbered 342 and the exhaust is numbered 313. They are from a stock 1984 GSX 750 SE Darkside engine.

Hey Derek, do you have light weight hollow cams?

Thanks,

Glen,
Not at all sure about the numbers on the sprockets, If you want to know for sure you will need to set it up with a dial gauge and measure.

From my service manual,
gsx 750 es 1983-84
inlet opens (BTDC) 38º
inlet Closed (ABDC) 62º
exhuast closed (ATDC) 24º
exhaust open (BBDC) 64º

Height
inlet 34.910 mm
ex 34.060 mm

But these are not the mighty legendary popup cams, there like this..

gsx750se 1984-85
inlet opens (BTDC) 38º
inlet Closed (ABDC) 62º
exhuast closed (ATDC) 26º
exhaust open (BBDC) 66º

Height
inlet 35.03 mm
ex 34.36mm

More lift and exhaust timing change. light weight & hollow? you bet.

Cheers John

Hi John, thanks for the specs on the cams, much appreciated. The photos of the cams here are a set that I removed from an unmolested 1984 GSX750SE Darkside engine and yes they are different to the garden variety GSX750S cams, hmmmm wonder where these will end up after they are slotted and dialed in ?

Cheers mate.

Sounds like Shin-ken is trying to make his bike go like a 750 - whats next - a blue seat?

A blue seat, nar, I'll stick with a real Kat however, a blue seat would be the right type of Kat for my Girl.

Hi Max, yeah mate, that would be both "hallowed" and "hollow". Must be the Voodoo casting it's darkness over the sacred W.W.! It's like good porn, I can't resist it.

Cheers.

If you stealing the technology your just admitting to your self the the darkside is better...

Glen, that motor didnt have a good ignition cover did it?

Hi John, yeah the ignition cover looks to be in good shape going by the photo. I'll ring the bloke and see if he still has the engine and if he wants to sell the cover on it's own and let you know.
