Go Pro settings and mount

Hi Trousersnake

Do you have some preferred settings and mount position for your Go Pro?

Anyone else please feel free to post your opinion.....

Ta.

I run mine at 960 rather than the highest settings, gives me 4 hours 22 minutes on a 32GB card.

I also got their handlebar/seat post mount and I like that so far mounted to the cross brace on my 'bars.

And I find engine/exhaust noise is better with the open back but if you have any rattles nearby the camera they will be easily picked up.

One thing I still need to do yet is either set up a way of charging on the go or getting some spare batteries to take with me. I get about 3 hours out of a battery which means 1 hour 22 minutes of recording time wasted on one card.

I run my gopro 3 black @ 1080 resolution and 30 fps wide.
I'd like to run 1080 60 but my computer doesn't handle the playback.

The higher the settings the less battery time you have.
Aftermarket battery's are a dime a dozen on ebay.

I prefer the Gopro suction mount on the tank...not a fan of the helmet cam perspective.
If you use your imagination the mounting points are endless.

The best way if you want good sound...is buy a cheap "Audio-Technica ATR3350 Omnidirectional Condenser Lavalier Microphone".
Mount it wherever you can ...close to number plate is good.

Look forward to seeing some of your vids.

P.S it's probably not wise to show your speedo. ;)

Hey Pete, you can buy usb power packs and extra batteries really cheap. My mate has a power pack for his phone on the handlebars and a pack for his bluetooth in his helmet, gets a couple weeks out of them for his daily commute from goldy to bris.

I have yet to get my hands on a suction cup mount for mine but after seeing Dave's and other video's I'd like to do so at some point.

Yep Tim, seen plenty around just haven't gotten there yet... other things like carb diaphragms have taken preference... haha
