G'Day from W.A

Hi,
My name is Kevin,
I'm from Perth, Western Australia, I've been riding since i was Eighteen and have had 5 bikes in total.

The first KAT I owned was way back in 1984, it was a 1983 GSX1100 SD model and for many years it was my daily ride, until regretfully selling the bike almost 10 years later.

In 1995 I was lucky to have purchased my second KAT ... another 1983 GSX1100 SD which I still own to this day.
With the exception of a 4:1 exhaust system, The bike is completely standard, running stock carbs, air box, wheels, brakes etc.

I look forward to chatting with members online about their bikes, mods, views and experiences etc and hopefully meet up with some of the W.A local riders.

Take care and ride safe.

Hi Kevin, great to have you on board mate, we have several members scattered throughout WA so I'm sure you'll be catching up with them soon.

Great to see your previous history with the mighty Kat, including the one you have had for last 20 years.

Look forward to some of your pics and stories, you'll find plenty of both here as well as all sorts of knowledge and helpful info.

Cheers

Eric

..G,day Kevin, Welcome to SKA. I don't know where you are based in WA , but as Eric says there's more than a few members in the west. Have met Tom and Lesley from Golden Bay , you could not meet nicer people. Cheers Ian.

Hi Keven and welcome to the Forum. It's always great to hear from someone who has been involved with Kats from early on and still has the Bug! There are a few other W.A. Kat fans here so it shouldn't be long before you hear from Tom and Rusty the rest of the crew as well as the blokes from the East.

Cheers,
Glen.

Hey there Kevin
Glad to see you joining the forum.
If your not already aware of the 35th Anniversay get together in March, worth investigating.
Believe there are couple of kat's making the trek towards the rising sun.

Enjoy the information and banter, it's adictive.:D

Hey Tomcat ....Thanks for the welcome, I should have joined the forum ages ago. I've read a post on the 35th Anniversary.....what an adventure that'd be.
I even thought about riding to the MOTO GP from Perth in 2016. When i lived in Vic i managed to ride my KAT to the Island ... in fact I saw mighty Mick Doohan win his 5th Championship, fantastic weekend.

What was unbelievable was after Sunday's race was the amount of people lining the streets of Cowes with handmade cardboard signs thanking riders , msg's like "ride safe" and "thank you - see you next year" ... even little kid's were standing on the car roofs and bonnets, while their parents sat close by on deck chairs all waving and cheering us on as they watched all the bikes head home...

Kevin.

What year was that Kevin?
I was there in '98 to see Mick win the championship and his first at the island.
Awesome weekend in Cowes.
