Hi,

New member Andy here... Just purchased a 1984 Katana 750 Pop up in need of TLC. Drove to Brisbane to pick it up (last weekend). Looking forward to doing a general tidy up (will do a full resto later). Will work on the bike myself and with a mate of mine. Pkay pointed me to this site via another forum (2fiftycc.com). My plan is to keep this bike and put it on club plates (I have a few other bikes....). Good to see a lot of enthusiasm about these bikes. I knew nothing about them (late comer to bikes) until a couple of years ago when I saw a Katana 1100 that someone has restored here in Tamworth (VJMC member). Look foward to interacting with the fellow members on this forum! Will post photo soon. Cheers...
 
G'day Andy and welcome, you're pretty much in the middle between Brisbane and Sydney, both have very active Kat sweet spots. cheers Ian
 
Hi Andy welcome to the Kat House and i hope to see your 750 Pop Up at the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Rally in Tamworth in March 2017. I will have my 1984 Pop Up there and hope to catch up. Also we have N.S.W. Katana Club weekend rides and our annual State of Origin with our Queensland Kats so keep to the forum in upcoming events and see you soon.

Hey Andy - welcome to the Kathouse. You'll find that the Pop-up is referred to as a "Darkside". I understand it relates to the inevitable failure of the headlight raising module but I am sure someone else will elaborate.

Hi Andy and welcome to the Forum. Thanks for the warning that you know Pkay and we certainly won't hold that against you here. You are very close to where we hold our annual QLD/NSW Kat weekend - Nambucca Heads. It is in August each year however, you have missed this years but that gives you 12 months to sort out the Darkside and bring it along for the weekend in 2017.

While I think of it.... Can anyone suggest where I might get some replacement blinker assemblies? Some of these are broken etc....

Welcome Andy
As Nick mentions VJMC meet next year. Whilst I'm not a member am planning to trek out for the occasion.
Also, not sure if anyone mentioned ( as I'm tired ) but there is a NSW meet in Parkes 19th / 20th November this year as a meet up for the NSW crew.

You will find lots of information and support.

Yeh Andy more info will be posted up. Even if the bike is not a runner you can still come on down for a Katch-up.

Firstly Yay another Popup, Welcome aboard.
Secondly, Ebay, look for GSX750ES blinkers.
There are some common parts between GSX750ESD/ESE and Popup. also GS700 in the US
