G’day from WA

GSX250S Rider
Hey all, new member from western australia.

Starting a resto on a 750 pop up that’s been stood for about 10 years as my next project.

Have just about finished a GPz1100 unitrack so I wanted a new challenge.

Will be digging through the forum for some hints and tips.

Cheers!

Giday Woody, welcome to the Kat house mate.
It has been a while since a 'Darkside' resto has appeared, plenty of knowledge here.

Knocked about with a bloke who had a GPz1100 back in the day, between my Katana and the GPZ we had the 2 quickest bikes in Mt Isa....had a ton of fun ;)

We have a few members scattered around your neck of the woods.

Don't forget, photos are much appreciated :D

Welcome again

Toadboy

Hi Woody and welcome to the Forum. There are few Darkside owners here that are very switched on operators when it comes to the trickery of the Darkside machines so you should be O.K.

Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome fellas,

Here's a couple of pics.

The gpz11 I restored from a rusty heap, that's now a rider

And the new pop up project skulking in the corner waiting for me to rebuild its carbs.

Not sure if the pics have uploaded correctly.

Welcome Woodvale, nice work on the GPZ!

Looks like you've got yourself a decent, pretty complete project with the popup there and yeah you'll definitely get some good help here.

Good luck and keep the pics coming!

Welcome to the kat house and goodluck with the darkside resto. I can provide you with some resources like manuals and parts list etc if required, just shoot me a pm

Hi Woody and welcome. There is a few lurking on here from Westralia.... Look forward to katch up sometime. Tom

Thanks Tom, was at the katana muster in the swan valley last summer so saw a few kats there.

Cool. not a bad get together in the weird times. Amazing how many that come out to play at times and a few traveled from Geraldton and Kal. Hopefully there will be another Jap Bike Show next year.

We head to Dwellingup Blue Wren every Saturday morning and be great if we can meet up sometime.

Good to know - looks familiar, I think I've been in that joint before.

There's also a good bike meet up in the warmer months at rogue motorcycles every third sunday morning. Usually a few hundred bikes - cafes and a big mix of classics too. I usually visit on the gpz.

when you are at Rogue next keep your eye out for a XLCR Harley cafe racer, Kat2020 (plate number on a new Kat) or my Katana Daisho ('81 1100 with a sidecar) and an old guy - that will be me
