I would paint it and let it age gracefully. Again.

Personally I prefer PC - and the local place in BRENDALE has a silver called Porsche silver which is as close as.
Either way - be sure that the drains are open and in good nick and knock off all the birdsh!t welding splatter and bits of welding rod that were smuggled out of Hamamatsu.
Also before you paint check the condition of the various welded on nuts (esp tank mount) and the coil mounts - these are particularly liable to crack.

There are no powdercoat silver with metallic flakes that match 13L. There are metallic silver powders however, put the tank, side covers and cowl on and there is a noticeable difference in the colour and flake so if it's an OEM finish you are after you'll be disappointed. Plenty of Kat owners have powder coated frames although, having worked in powdercoating I wouldn't do it to my frame. Others have done it and seem happy with the result.
There is a reason powder coating is cheap.
Cheers.
Thermal Edge is the mob at BRENDALE, and they use Prismatic Powders for their colours. https://www.prismaticpowders.com
If you jump on the Prismatic Powders web site, they'll send you some free samples (up to 5 I think).
Having seen Derek's frame, yeah that silver's not too far away from the correct 13L, you'd really have to look close to see the difference.
Yeah, I know it will be hard to get a perfect colour match but if I can get it as close as possible, it could be a goer. Decisions, decisions.
It sure is Pete, the bodywork is all done in PPG 13LThat did indeed work out well Darryl!
Also, if you're keen to paint rather than PC, you can get the correct 13L from PPG in their Deltron range... that's what I used and it's excellent paint to spray with too, lays down very nicely indeed even for a rank amateur like me.
