I have just started my second re-build, and thought for the $100 bucks or so each I would buy brand new left & right hand frame covers.

But it appears as if Suzuki Australia, have jacked up the cost considerably!

I checked and was told that it was not an on-line typo, and that was the cost, less any discount then + GST. I ended up getting the same through Suzuki Parts Monster USA for $US79.00 = shipping. Which is usually not worth it, due to the $AUD exchange except I brought a few other bits which made it worthwhile. Below are some links to other options.

I would not be surprised if the cost goes up in other countries also, unfortunately for owners everywhere.

Yeah Paul I was shocked to hear the new price when you mentioned it this morning, makes other Kat parts look cheap in comparison eh? Unless you are after a genuine Kat screen - $378.90 plus $14.85 for the mold edgeing - ouch!

Hi Paul, yes I checked too on Mick Hone and was gobsmacked after you told me today. That is a rort. How do Suzuki Australia justify that.
 
I'm sure there will be some other shocking increases on other parts as well. As it is not like a big company to put up the price of just one item....

I spoke to Steve @ MH weeks ago on this very issue. Suzuki had an increase but these items were incorrectly priced.
He was going to contact Suzuki Aust and get the price adjusted accordingly.
I'll call MH Monday to remind/verify the new price.

Hope it is incorrect, checked with Springwood Suzuki, and they said it was correct ??

Yeah I hope so too. I never checked with MH again as I thought Steve would be all over it. Hopefully the price issued by Suzuki Aust
was across all dealers and has simply not been picked up by anybody.

O.K I spoke to MH earlier today,

"We are aware of the increase on these items + the choke assembly which is now approx $60.00. Suzuki Aust is working with Suzuki Japan to resolve this.

MH has a meeting with a rep from Suzuki Japan next week and will be discussing this increase. Once the price has been sorted MH will be contacting SKA to advise the new price."

Thanks Chief. The price rise was generated by Suzuki Japan and not Suzuki Australia. Mick has been in discussions with both parties regarding the jump in part prices and he is doing his best to resolve the issue. Let's hope it can be sorted and in a good way for us as Kat part buyers. If the part prices stay at the totally mental current price the good news is our Kats have just doubled in value as parts donors!!!!!!!!
