Yeah sure, but the GT750 motor isn't narrower than a GSX motor, it isn't lighter, and it doesn't make more power - so what's the point? Why jam a GT750 motor into a chassis that's bigger and boatier than the original GT? Everytime I've ever thought about stuffing a GT motor in something, it's been shorter/lighter/stiffer than the factory frame...The other goes, it's a Suzuki mill in a Suzuki chassis, check. Katana styling preserved, check. Improved suspension, check. OK... I do like big strokers. I like 2-stroke triples. The GT750 isn't a bad choice of donk.
May be this is a styling exercise more than anything else? May be it's being done, because no ones done it before? Let's face it, if you want power there are umpteen different options you could choose. If you want two-stroke power, RG500, RZ500, or if your got $$$ any 4-cylinder TZ, would all kill the GT750 mill with little or no modification, and you want sports/racer handling, there are as you say, better places to start. As I say, I'm in two minds on this one, but there is a certain logic of a warmed over touring motor in what is in all reality an old fashioned sports touring chassis. Personally I wouldn't do it, but then again I don't own it.Yeah sure, but the GT750 motor isn't narrower than a GSX motor, it isn't lighter, and it doesn't make more power - so what's the point? Something like this is a much better use of the GT750 motor and the steel:
