Compliance plate position

Could one of you please tell me the correct position for the compliance plate pictured. It was glued to the steering head but I'd like to rivet it this time but can't find the old rivet holes anywhere.SAM_2436.JPG

Hi, ex-factory the plate is riveted on the front of the steering head and sitting around to the clutch lever side with the top of the plate just touching the base of the steering lock housing. The plate text is read from the clutch lever side from bottom to top.

Cheers.

Wonderful ... thanks very much Ken. Obviously the old rivet holes have been welded or I'm sure I'd have noticed them when I painted the frame.

Hi Pete, the good news is you still have the plate. I know of a few plates that have been lost when frames have been painted.

Cheers.

The rivets are soft - so if chiselled off - the stubs may still be in the steering head?

That has happened to me a long time ago and the repair shop played dumb. I advised the cops are on there way and funny how the compliance plate was found very quickly.
The shop closed a very long time ago and hope nobody has fallen victim to this.
