Plenty of you lot have said it's hard to go anywhere quickly on a Kat because there's always someone who wants a chat... had it happen again yesterday at Supercheap while testing riding the R1 throttle tube swap on the Kat.

Didn't catch the fella's name but apparently he used to ride with the "Katana boys" here which were the three Sharp brothers and another fella called Trevor (I think).

He didn't know Don had passed away recently but apparently one of his brothers works at a Ferny Grove coffee shop or something like that, so still a local also.

Anyway, funny how small a world it is and yeah, always someone up for a Kat chat!

Well Pete,

Splitting to the front one morning last week (as you do) forward progress was impeded, by he narrowing space, stop a long side a SUV type land barge.
The electric window winds down, and a some bloke with a mid fifty’s appearance says "nice Katana" and starts to tell me all about it...

On Friday riding home, on Stafford road some someone turning into the shops yelled out "something Katana"

I hear for from the streets people say "you are soul"

Hahaha yeah it's not what I'm used to on the 450... although occasionally you get someone saying how they used to have one, the Kat's a different world though! Had a fella on a 90's Beemer adventure bike the other week get all excited in traffic "oh look Katana Katana!!" :D

Yeh Pete it happens quite a bit.
Always starts " Wow a Katana, Haven't seen one of those in forever" which I like to reply " I get to see one every day!"
Always positive people which is cool.

Very true Nige, not had anyone say "not another bloody Kat!"

An Uncle Doug from Sydney MMM FM special. He was a classic radio jock.

It's pretty much the same here in South Africa. Every time I go out on the Kat someone will come up to me and either rave about it or wants to buy it. Is there any other marque of bike world wide that has such a passionate following?

Got wheeled by a Hyway Patrol car on the Hume Hyway in Victoria once nearly broke my neck looking to the speedo to see how fast i was going only to be told wow havent seen one of these in a long time Cheers Murf

Hahaha classic! Good to hear from ya' too Murf!
