Brand NEW Katana 1100 exhaust system

I was talking with Mick Hone over the MotoGP weekend, he was looking at a photo of my wire-wheel Kat and mentioned why didn't I put an original exhaust system on it. The bike had an O'Brien 4 into 1.

I said to Mick well I might consider it if there were any available anywhere in the world. He said he sells them and here I quote 'You owe it to the bike'.

So $1,890 later here I have a brand new Katana 1100 exhaust system, amazing!!

How smick does that look, very tasty Rob

I know 'back in the day' we all pretty much ditched our original pipes as soon as we could but they were pretty cool.
....Still shudder when I remember watching my original set go under the tracks of a dozer as it knocked down the shed who's wall they were hanging on.
Was asked if I wanted them..."narr, shithouse pipes" I replied :roll:

Still looking for that Crystal Ball....:)

Nice bike Rob. Standard pipes do look good on a Kat.

I agree Eric. I remember doing the same with my GPZ9's pipes only not as viliolently as you!!

Thanks everyone. I really was very surprised when Mick said he had brand new systems for sale. I had thought these were no longer available, like, you know anywhere in the entire universe!?! It appears he has several available.

Does this mean maybe that Suzuki is re-manufacturing some old stuff or is this NOS? I must ask next time I'm in Melb picking up some bits...
 
Hi Rob, from what Steve (Suzi spares at M.H. has advised) the stock Kat systems are NOS and still in the parts system. Recent searching seems to indicate it is the O.E.M. big bore 33mm muffler outlet systems that are NLA from Suzuki. However, as always never say never!

How many more of those systems does he have?

I have an original exhaust, but it's starting to disintegrate.
I'd love to put a new one on my SXZ Kat when I complete the resto.

Hi Paul, give Steve at Suzi parts at M.H. a call and he'll have the answer for you. I wouldn't leave it too long, the current price Rob paid for his system may not stay that way if recent Suzi parts price changes are an indicator.
