Assistance with possible purchase

HI All. I am wondering if somebody can help me with some useful info.
I am looking to purchase a 1982/3 Katana 1100. I have the following info
I will be importing this bike potentially.
VIN. GS110X 101134
Engine. GS110X 149956.
Would this seem correct with matching numbers (if there is such a thing?)

Much appreciated and info or to point me in right direction.
Cheers

Hi,

Its always appreciated to post an introductory message, who, what, where, etc?

The bikes never had matching eng/frame numbers.

Regards.

Hi,
from what country are you going to import the Katana? If you're considering importing from Japan, it might be a 90's Katana, guessing from the frame number. Does the Katana have the characteristics of SZ?

Hi. I am a bit of a Noob when it comes to Katanas hence the improper introduction perhaps. In any case this is what I have

The bike is currently in South Africa so I am not able to view it personally. Some photos i do have.IMG-20220517-WA0027.jpg
I have in the past imported another classic so was hoping to do the same again.
But if the frame is likely 90s then it might be problematic? Not keen on a Franken classic.
Much appreciated the reply so far.

I think you can still bring it in. It had to be a personal import if post 1989 - but apparently now there is a rolling 25 year rule. The mods may be a problem however. As these mods may make it no longer considered an older vehicle.

Hi. I saw the photo. The frame has the characteristics of SZ. I think your katana may have been an SXZ.
