Another Kiwi in the house

Well Pom Kiwi anyway!

Hi Folks, I am been meaning to register for sometime now so here I am and hello!

Getting inspiration to get my PopUp on the road and so where better to start than on your great forum. I have looked in previously but had other projects on my plate.

I have owned my bike a few years now and bought it as a running project but with dead rego and having been sat in a shed for several years, the previous owner used to be on this forum actually. Anyway, the bike is all there but just a bit rough around the edges and loosing a fair bit of oil when sat. Just needs a big birthday. I was going to do full resto but now deciding to just get it on teh road and have a survivor bike rather then a polished queen. Got too man of the latter!

So just saying hello and will no doubt have several questions and need for advice over the coming months (years!).

Cheers
Dave

Welcome along and nice looking machine you've got there. You'll find a lot of helpful knowledgeable people on here.

Welcome Dave,

I agree that bike doesn’t need a resto, she just needs some love, and taken out for a good thrashing,,,

Any Questions just ask, this forum will help.

Cheers John

Hey Dave welcome! Yep, definitely get her on the road and have some fun, looks like a solid starting point there.

That now makes three Daves on the forum, all of which have popups... hmmmm... something in that maybe? :D (We won't mention the other non-forum Dave)

Cheers all. Will start off by getting it started up again. I killed the battery but have a spare. Then will get it checked over by a wof man and fix up anything needed on that front and get the brake cert done at the same time. I have all the paperwork in place to get the rego back up and running now also, just need to dig deep and pay the crazy money they want for the process after that! I just went through the whole thing with a 94 Fireblade so am up to speed with who needs what. Bike has now been moved into my main shed and ready for some lovin!

Hey Bigdave, this is a great place to share information and experiences, I look forward to watching your Kat journey.

Hi Dave

Good to see another pop up!

Good luck and I to look forward to seeing the progress.

What part of NZ are you in?

I live up Northland.

I am afraid the progress since first post is to pump up the flat tyres and push the bike into my main shed. I have fitted a spare battery and turned it over. Thats about the lot for now. I just seem to have too much on the go and need to make some solid plans. I spoke with a resto bloke the other day but have now decided that just doing everything myself is the way forward and doing a definite patina survivor resto over a full strip down is the way I want this. Going to just get it running and registered and then see where it ends up.

Cheers
Dave
