Well done on getting it back!

Even in its damaged condition - its clear to see that it was in really good shape before.

Good luck with the resto - Peter shall no doubt be spurring you on!

Hey Bill
Glad your keeping the positive out look. The Cam End Covers look in good condition :D

Offer of a front wheel still stands. PM me with details and I'll send it off

Cheers
Stuart

Love your positive attitude Phil and at least you have a good and known starting point to work with.

Sad to see her like that Phil, but glad to see she made it home...

again to both of you involved on that day I am so pleased you guys walked away from the prang your attitude towards the whole issue is accredit to you and a lesson more than a few in the world could learn from . I have some discs if they are of use to you they are yours and an 84 es front end complete not correct but would keep it mobile until you found the right bits not much else mate but looking forward to riding with you and the phoenix at some time in the future I did spot an ad for new inner fork staunchions but cant find it at pres great to see shes home cheers mate

Tarrozzi have alisting for staunchins direct or through webike at 112pounds apiece Dave Kellet in Brisy ph 0732902811 has done a lot of work on kats recently major mods on one slight mods another straightening a third so he is right up to speed with them at present please don't release the engine mt systems anywhere on the bike until your frame is straightned as doing so releases the stress into the tubes and it is a nightmare to reverse the crumple forces and directionhope that helps you a bit Phil

Thanks for your feedback guys.. was certainly good to finally get it back. Will be interesting to see under the tank; might be a show stopper...

With a funny shaped front wheel, flat tyre, no handle bars and a remodelled front end, simply moving it a few metres to the inside of my garage was a real challenge... So Stuart, I will contact you about that front wheel very soon!

Fortunately, I was at Peters last weekend and borrowed his home made engine trolley to rest the front wheel in, and then haul it around to its resting place. My god these bikes are heavy... picking it up to get it into the trolley was 50% of the battle.

Anyway, done now.

So I had a The Castle moment at Pete's... Goes something like this:

Phil, Can you move the Waterbottle and the black 1100 as I have to get Katana 1 out
No worries Pete, but I need to move the ESD and Katana 2 to get to Katana 1
Thanks Fine, look out for the Jag on the way out...

Hey Donga,

As I have another 1100 arriving soon with front end damage, that's great advise and information, thank you very much.

Now that is some sweet workshop gear.
Next project I'm going to invest in some 3x1's and a few small castors.

Should be just the ticket in a small Garrage to move the partially assembled frame around when the finance manager goes out. ( might look like something out of the Flintstones, but what the f¥€k

I think it's stuffed...

I took the tank off today and other bibs and bobs... photos below of the frame. I will send the pics to the frame straightener for their input, but I was quite taken back when I first saw it.

i think the frame might just be too far gone.

Thoughts...?

This section is supposed to be straight...

You need to draw a line from top to bottom alone the frame... again its supposed to be straight.

Phil

Thoughts...?
That side rail looks like its starting to kink... not so easy to fix, cause when you bend it back its not round anymore and therefore not as strong as it was.
BUT do ask a frame pro anything can be fixed, like replace the whole length.
its just a matter of how much your prepared to pay.

Good Hunting

Stay positive Phil. It's bloody disappointing but at least your still upright and vertical and have the opportunity to start again.
