across the Nullarbor

Has anyone taken their Kat across the Nullarbor? Thinking of riding from Syd to Perth next year, would be interested to hear your thoughts/recommendations.

Shaun Roe was on hear a while back he rode his Kat from Perth to Albury for the 30th Cheers Murf still recovering would be my guess

Thought about it a year ago, but a more learned friend ( Nick K ) pointed out that the tyres would most likely need replacing by the time I got there as would be squared off. And then again when I got back.

All assuming I did not have issues on the trip across.

Of course can depend on the the Kat, suspension setup / tyres you are running.

Just some food for thought.
Cheers
Stuart

piece of piss these days, max fuel is 190 klm accomodation not much more.

yes it will square tyres but no more than any other inland hwy, you can ride around in WA on slightly squared tyres as theres only one corner going in and one corner leaving. You could put new set for the trip and keep what you got now and reuse when you get back, but depending on how massively you like to overload your bike you may need 2 rears.

Biggest problem will be dealing with all the grey nomads doin 60 in the RV/VAN

Shaun Roe actually transported his bike to 30th in a covered trailer.

I have driven it a number of times including 3 when it was dirt (and yep I am that old). Boring as bat shite.

There is actually 2 turns heading west; right at Norseman and a left at Coolgardie.

If you have time to get off the highway there is some really fantastic sights along the coast line.

And as John said there is heaps of fuel etc along the way now.

Western Australia does actually have corners as well. You just need to find them.

You know when you get stuck behind cars on the good corners on your rides? Frustrating!
Imagine getting to those two corners and you're stuck behind a van or a road train!

how much would that suck?!
