Hi All,
Just bought an 1100 Kat engine (in pieces) from a guy near Beenleigh in Queensland. Thought I had shipping all under control using a company (Transdirect) I have used before. (The engine was going to my brother's place in Wollongong until he comes to Phillip Island in July.)
Booked and paid for it all online, when I rang Transdirect to let them know the guy I'd bought the engine from does not have email (so he cannot receive the shipping labels to print these and stick them on the 3 cartons the motor is packed into), well the whole thing became a schmozzle!
Everything had to be cancelled! Bugger!
I was told that Transdirect do not ship engines from a residential address, ok though from a commercial address(?). No sign of that little proviso on their website!
Tried Pack and Send, way too expensive, about $300.
Anyone know of a transport company that will transport a disassembled engine from a residence to another residence?
